Land safaris deep within Chobe and Matusadona National Parks, boat safaris to encounter mammals and birds, and the chance to discover local traditions in Namibian villages form the vibrant heart of this program. From the waters of the Okavango Delta to the arid landscapes of Namibia, each stop offers unforgettable encounters with the wildlife and people of this part of the world.
A cruise on Lake Kariba aboard an intimate 5-anchor vessel offers an immersive experience of mystical landscapes, where the heart of Zimbabwe beats. One of the world’s largest man-made reservoirs, Lake Kariba is a sanctuary of silence and biodiversity, which you can explore from the deck at dawn or sunset, in an atmosphere of almost surreal beauty.
The safari cruise concludes with a view of the impressive Victoria Falls, one of the world’s natural wonders. To extend the adventure, CroisiEurope offers several extensions to choose from: a pre-cruise itinerary on the Cape Peninsula, featuring Robben Island, Table Mountain, and the penguins of Simon’s Town; a pre-cruise itinerary dedicated to the dunes and deserts of Namibia on the west coast, with its expanses of red sand contrasting against the blue sky; or, as a post-cruise itinerary, a journey aboard the Rovos Rail, the legendary train that traverses the highlands of Zimbabwe and South Africa, for an unforgettable rail experience.
An unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience! This trip is magical. After a short stay in Johannesburg, we flew to Impala Island to check in at Cascade Lodge. Even the boat ride to the island—after sailing down the Zambezi River—was magical, as we spotted our first hippos in the water and the papyrus-lined banks. We really enjoyed the lodge—it was top-notch, with spacious, well-maintained rooms in a stunning setting, and their small private pools, which we of course had to try out. The boat and jeep excursions allowed us to discover a multitude of wild animals in their natural habitat and up close. Coming face-to-face with an elephant just a few meters away is an experience you’ll never forget! We left this place (almost reluctantly) to fly over the savanna and board our boat, the AFRICAN DREAM, based on Lake Kariba, where a new adventure awaited us. The ship is very comfortable, and as always, the staff is lovely, attentive, and the food is delicious. Top-notch organization—well done! We ended the trip on a high note with Victoria Falls, breathtakingly beautiful—yet another unforgettable experience! This trip will remain one of the most beautiful of my life; we’re returning home with our heads full of memories—it was WONDERFUL!
